The U60 is an Ultra Mobile PC that Gigabyte recently debuted at CeBIT 2007. The UMPC features a 6.5″ LCD screen, Via C7-M CPU, integrated 802.11 b/g, and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. The screen features an LED backlight that uses less power than traditional backlights, and supposedly lasts longer as well. The Via CPU is the ULV 770 1GHz ultra low voltage processor that only consumes 5 watts! The Bluetooth is the next generation of Bluetooth that is supposed to be three times faster than regular Bluetooth. Also, the press release talks about it being upgradable, and mentions the possibility of GPS and DVB-T Digital TV. Gigabyte is also partnering with a Chinese Telco to offer 3G/3.5G service (not sure if that’s data only or if that’s cellular phone as well). And get this, the suggested retail is $800 to $920 USD!

The problem is, it’s currently only announced to be released in Taiwan some time this month. As far as I can find it’s currently not planned for anywhere else. We never get the cool toys.
