Xbox 360 Core System replacement to have HDMI

Microsoft is silently replacing the Xbox 360 Core System with a new model, the Xbox 360 Arcade. It gets it’s name from the packed in Xbox Live! Arcade game demo compilations with Boom Boom Rocket, Feeding Frenzy, Luxor 2, Pac-Man Championship, and Uno. Like the Core system it comes with a wireless controller but the Xbox 360 Arcade also comes with a 256MB memory card and an HDMI port. All of the original Xbox 360 systems, Core and Premium, did not have HDMI ports. The somewhat recently released Xbox 360 Elite was the first to come with HDMI and then Premium systems start appearing with HDMI. Now it looks like systems at all price points will now come with HDMI. Another reason this is a good thing for consumers, is that if they have HDMI that should mean that it’s at least a somewhat newly manufactured unit and whether it has the new 65nm cooler running CPU or not, it should have more prevention for the red ring of death than older manufactured units.

Engadget has some unboxing pictures if you’d like to take a look, but it pretty much just looks like every other white normal Xbox 360 you’ve ever seen except with an HDMI port.
