Apparently computers and computer parts are too cheap. DDR2 memory bottomed out a while ago and at some points was actually being sold under cost. Everex is working on new versions of the Cloudbook, their 7″ sub-notebook based on the Via Nanobook/FIC CE260 design which is going to be available on January 25th. don’t get it… Why does anyone need a laptop that’s the regular footprint of a laptop but “0.16? at its thinnest point, 0.76? at its thickest point”? Due to customer demand Asus plans on offering versions of the Eee PC 4G and 8G with Windows XP pre-installed. They are also working on Eee PC with 8″ and 8.9″ screen and better batteries. Maxdata and Belinea have released a 7″ subnotebook similar to the Asus Eee PC. It’s based on the Via Nanobook/FIC CE260 and sticks more to the original design than the Everex Cloudbook CE1200V.
